The“Colline Marconiane”represent one of the most suitable areas for quality viticulture within the Colli Bolognesi region. They do not include any lowland areas and range in elevation from 100 to 350 meters above sea level. The soils are dry, some rich in rock fragments, others less so, but all are well-exposed to the south. Temperatures range from -8°C to +32°C; the climate is dry, sunny, and breezy. Annual precipitation averages between 600 and 1,000 mm, well distributed throughout the year.

This subzone was highlighted during the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the invention of the radio, in recognition of the high-quality wines produced in the hilly area where the scientist Guglielmo Marconi conducted the early experiments that made him famous worldwide.
