The “Marconian Hills”represent in the area of Bologna Hills one of the most suitable areas for Quality viticulture. They do not include flat areas and have an altitude ranging from 100 to 350 metres above sea level. The soils are dry, some stony, others less so, but all well exposed to the south. Temperatures range from -8°C to +32°C, the climate is dry, sunny and breezy. The average annual rainfall ranges between 600 and 1000 mm, well distributed throughout the year.
This subzone was used in the context of the centenary celebrations of the invention of radio, for the Quality wines products in the hilly area, where the scientist Guglielmo Marconi carried out the first experiments that made him world-famous.
